The FTX and Alameda bankruptcy estate redeemed approximately 192,000 SOL tokens from staking positions on 11 September 2025, valued at roughly $44.9 million. The transaction forms part of the estate's established monthly liquidation strategy designed to convert staked assets into liquid funds for creditor repayments. According to blockchain analytics firm EmberCN, the redeemed tokens are typically routed through multiple addresses before being transferred to major exchanges such as Coinbase and Binance.

Since November 2023, the estate has redeemed a total of approximately 8.98 million SOL, worth around $1.2 billion at an average price of $134 per token. Despite the steady withdrawals, the estate's staking address still holds roughly 4.18 million SOL, valued at approximately $977 million. The next creditor repayment round is scheduled for 30 September 2025, though the exact payout amount has not been disclosed. To date, FTX has returned approximately $6.2 billion to former customers across two prior distribution rounds, comprising $1.2 billion in February and $5 billion in May, distributed via platforms including BitGo, Kraken, and Payoneer. Concurrently, Three Arrows Capital has filed a lawsuit against Sam Bankman-Fried, Ryan Salame, and Caroline Ellison, alleging $1.5 billion in illegal liquidations and insider trading.

Following the latest redemption, Solana's price surged 8% to reach $238, with its market capitalisation climbing to nearly $130 billion and overtaking BNB to claim the fifth spot on CoinMarketCap. The estate's structured and predictable liquidation approach provides a degree of transparency for the market, while the nearly $1 billion in Solana still held in staking positions remains a significant factor in the token's supply dynamics.
